Dr. Marra Francis is a board-certified OB/Gyn who has over two decades of both clinical practice and professional experience working primarily with diagnostic and biotech start-up companies on strategies for bringing their technology to customers. She has held multiple C-Suite and division head positions at both public and privately held companies. As an advisor and consultant, she has worked with novel cancer diagnostic and precision oncology companies helping design clinical studies to facilitate provider adoption and payer coverage. She has facilitated the growth of early start-up companies from post-seed money to Series B and beyond raises, assisting in fund raising efforts and building and reorganizing departments in medical and clinical affairs.
Marra is also a faculty member for MIT’s Catalyst program where aspiring entrepreneurs learn how to carefully evaluate the clinical environment gaps in care before solutioning in an effort to minimize healthcare start-up failures. She is a strong advocate for the health and education of women of all ages and has served as a medical expert on local and national boards and panels. When she is not working, she is learning Italian, cooking, traveling to visit her six children and two grandchildren, or wake-surfing at the lake.
