Paul G. Smith’s professional career has included roles as Board Director, CEO, CFO and Advisor across diverse organizations in the Canadian public and private sectors.
Beginning with the Government of Canada, he served in advisory roles within Ministerial offices before becoming Executive Assistant to the Prime Minister. Transitioning to the private sector, and following formative years with Bell Canada, he co-founded Equity Financial Holdings (TSX: EQI) and transformed it into a regulated Canadian deposit-taking financial institution. Today, he is Chair & CEO of Rally Enterprises & Communications Corp., a facilities-based small telecom operator offering services Canada-wide.
Paul serves, or has served, on the boards of directors of various public, private, and non-profit entities. Fluent in English and French, he has lived in France and across Canada. His academic studies include an INSEAD MBA (’95 J), a Masters in Public Administration and undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Social Sciences. He is an accredited member of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.
Paul G. Smith is President of the Canadian INSEAD Foundation and past president of the INSEAD Alumni Fund, Canada. In 2024, he was awarded a INSEAD Alumni Volunteer Leader Award.
